On March 25, 1991 British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority ("B.C. Hydro") applied for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity ("CPCN"), pursuant to Section 51(3) of the Utilities Commission Act ("the Act"), to construct and operate a 138 kilovolt transmission line between the McMahon Cogeneration Project ("McMahon") and B.c. Hydro's integrated grid system, a distance of 2.2 kilometres; and B. The project will facilitate the transmission of electric power to B.C. Hydro's existing grid system from the McMahon gas-fired cogeneration project near Taylor, B.C.; and C. The Commission has reviewed the Application and has determined that the construction and operation of the proposed 138 kilovolt transmission line is necessary for the public convenience and properly conserves the public interest. NOW THEREFORE the Commission orders as follows: A CPCN is granted to B.c. Hydro to construct and operate a 2.2 kilometre, 138 kilovolt transmission line from the McMahon Cogeneration project to B.C.
