IN THE MAT IER OF the Utilities Commission Act, S.B.C. 1980, c. 60, as amended and IN THE MAT IER OF Applications by BC Gas Inc. BEFORE: J.G. McIntyre, ) Chainnan; ) J.D.V. Newlands, ) August 15, 1991 Deputy Chainnan; and ) N. Martin, ) Commissioner ) o R D E R WHEREAS: A. BC Gas Inc. ("BC Gas") applied August 8, 1991 for Commission approval of a methodology of flowing through gas costs to its customers and for the filing of BC Gas Large Volume Tariff Schedules 10 and 13 and corresponding BC Gas Sales Agreements in the Lower Mainland and Inland Divisions effective November I, 1991 ("the Applications"); and B. The filing of integrated Gas Tariff Rate Schedules 10 and 13 for large industrial customers represents an initial step towards the development of an integrated Be Gas Tariff designed for utilization throughout the Be Gas Lower Mainland and Inland Division service areas; and C. The Commission has reviewed the Applications and has determined that consideration of the Applications requires input from affected parties and expeditious handling in order to provide adequate customer notice of any changes to rates prior to the proposed effective date of November I, 1991. NOW THEREFORE the Commission Orders BC Gas as follows: 1. BC Gas is to provide a copy of the Applications and this Order to the following affected parties: sales and service customers with gas consumptions greater than 300,000 GJ/year; the British Columbia Public Interest Advocacy Centre, Gas Marketers active in the Province, Council of Forest Industries of British Columbia, Independent Petroleum Association of Canada, and Canadian Petroleum Association. BC Gas is to provide the Commission with a list of these customers and interested parties to whom the Applications and Order have been sent 2. Commission staff is instructed to chair an information meeting at which BC Gas will provide clarification of the Applications. The meeting will commence at 9:00 a.m., August 27, 1991 in the BCUe hearing room, 6th Floor 900 Howe Street, Vancouver, B.c., and will adjourn as appropriate. 3. All interested parties are encouraged to participate at the meeting and should register with the Commission Secretary by telephone or in writing by 2:00 p.m., August 26, 1991. .. ./2 SIXTH FLOOR, 900 HOWE STREET, VANCOUVER, FACSIMILE (604) 660,1102
2 4. Customers and interested parties intending to comment on the BC Gas Applications should do so in writing to the Commission and to BC Gas on or before September 16, 1991. The Commission requests separate comment on each application wherever appropriate. 5. BC Gas is to respond to all written comments, with a copy to the Commission, to be received no later than September 23, 1991. 6.
