IN THE MATIER OF the Utilities Commission Act, S.B.C. 1980, c. 60, as amended and IN THE MAT IER OF an Application by BC Gas Inc. and Commission Order No. E-4-91 BEFORE: J.G. Commission Order No. E-4-91 dated April 10, 1991 approved for BC Gas Inc. ("BC Gas") nineteen long term natural gas supply contracts for the Core Market effective November 1, 1991; and B. Subsequent to Commission approval and acceptance for filing, the Commission was advised that the Alberta & Southern Gas Co. Ltd. ("Alberta & Southern") failed to obtain support from all the producers as contemplated by the contract; and C. The supply contracts by Canadian Hunter Marketing Ltd. ("Canadian Hunter") may be impacted by information contained in the BC Gas April 1991 Issue of "GAS life" where it was indicated that BC Gas holds a seven percent stake in the Canadian Hunter Ring - Border field; and D. The Commission has reviewed the natural gas supply contracts and finds that additional information is required, in order to ensure that they continue to be in the public interest. NOW THEREFORE the Commission orders as follows: 1. Pursuant to Section 114 of the Utilities Commission Act, Commission Order No. E-4-91 is hereby varied by rescinding the approval as it relates to the contracts for Alberta & Southern and Canadian Hunter, pending reconsideration. 2. Commission staff is directed to conduct an investigation into the contracts and report to the Commission by April 30, 1991 as to whether the approval and acceptance for filing of these contracts pursuant to Order No. E-4-91 remains i , n , ; th : e t : ~ public interest.
