Newlands, ) Deputy Chainnan; and ) August 30, 1991 N. Martin, ) Commissioner ) ORDER WHEREAS: A. Pacific Northern Gas Ltd. ("PNG") applied by letter dated August 28, 1991 for Commission approval of a negotiated industrial interruptible rate for the provision of interruptible gas supply for the month of September, 1991 to the British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority ("B.C. Hydro") thermal generating plant at Prince Rupert, British Columbia; and B. The interruptible rate is to remain in effect for the month of September 1991 and will enable B.C. Hydro to assess the economic and technical viability of operating its generating plant under steady base load conditions; and C. By separate Letter of Agreement dated August 28, 1991 CanWest Gas Supply Inc. ("CanWest"), have modified their interruptible gas Supply Letter of Agreement dated December 14, 1989; and D. The gas supply provided to PNG from CanWest Gas is for a one-month period. NOW THEREFORE the Commission orders as follows: 1. The Commission, pursuant to Section 85.3 of the Utilities Commission Act, approves the August 28, 1991 Letter Agreements between PNG and CanWest and between PNG and B.C. Hydro for the supply of interruptible gas to PNG for resale to B.C. Hydro that will enable the operation of the Prince Rupert gas turbine generating station for the month of September, 1991. 2. The Commission accepts for filing the short-term interruptible Gas Sales Agreement with B.C. Hydro, in conjunction with the above. 3. Priority for curtailment of interruptible sales to B.C.
