McIntyre, ) Chainnan; ) J.D.V. Newlands, ) Deputy Chainnan; and ) February 6, 1992 N. Martin, ) Commissioner ) o R D E R WHEREAS: A. On January 22, 1992 British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority ("B.C. Hydro") applied for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity ("CPCN If ), to construct and operate two 90 metre, 138 kilovolt transmission line taps to a new substation at Taylor Bay on Galiano Island; and B . The project will improve the reliability, security and operational flexibility of electric service to the Gulf Islands; and C. The Commission has reviewed the Application and has detennined that the construction and operation of the proposed 138 kilovolt transmission line taps and substation are necessary for the public convenience and properly conserve the public interest NOW THEREFORE the Commission orders as follows: A CPCN is granted to B.C. Hydro to construct and operate two 90 metre, 138 kilovolt transmission line taps to a new substation at Taylor Bay on Galiano Island in order to improve system reliability, security and operational flexibility of the electric service to the Gulf Islands.
