Barr, ) September 10, 1992 Deputy Chair ) o R D E R WHEREAS: A. On August 7 and 25, 1992 BC Gas Inc. ("BC Gas") applied to the Commission for approval of seven short-term natural gas contracts with Alberta & Southern, Canadian Hydrocarbon Marketing Inc., Grand Valley Gas Company, Universal Resources Corp. (Questar) and an amendment to the agreement with Unocal Canada Limited for Aitken Creek incremental storage ("the Application") pursuant to Rules Respecting Energy Supply Contracts ("the Rules") and Section 85.3 of the Utilities Commission Act ("the Act"); and B. The Application will provide BC Gas with approximately 134.5 MMCF/day of seasonal and peaking gas supplies for periods ranging from I-year to 3-year terms commencing with the gas contract year beginning November 1, 1992; and C. The Commission has reviewed the Application and is satisfied that approval is necessary and in the public interest. NOW THEREFORE pursuant to the Rules and Section 85.3 of the Act the Commission approves the following gas supply contracts: 1. A seasonal gas sale contract between Alberta & Southern Gas Co. Ltd. and BC Gas Inc. dated July 1, 1992 for a contract quantity of 1,416 10 3 M3/day and a I-year term. 2. A gas purchase contract between Canadian Hydrocarbons Marketing Inc. and BC Gas Inc. dated July 1, 1992 for a contract quantity of 5,000 GJ/day and a I-year term. 3. A seasonal gas purchase contract between Grand Valley Gas Company and BC Gas Inc. dated July 1, 1992 for a contract quantity of 10,551 GJ/day and a 3-year term. c C j
E-11-92 2 4. A 9-day peaking gas purchase contract between Grand Valley Gas Company and BC Gas Inc. dated July 1, 1992 for a contract quantity of 20,000 MMBtu/day and a I-year term. 5. A 30-day peaking gas purchase contract between Grand Valley Gas Company and BC Gas Inc. dated July 1, 1992 for a contract quantity of 5,000 MMBtu/day and a I-year term. 6. A 9-day peaking gas purchase contract between Universal Resources Corporation (Questar) and BC Gas Inc. dated July 1, 1992 for a contract quantity of 11,500 MMBtu/day and a 2-year term. 7. A seasonal gas purchase contract between Universal Resources Corporation (Questar) and BC Gas Inc. dated July 1, 1992 for a contact quantity of 10,000 MMBtu/day and a 2-year term. 8. A letter amendment dated July 30, 1992 to the Natural Gas Storage Agreement between Unocal Canada Limited and BC Gas Inc. dated June 1, 1990.
