BEFORE: M.K. Jaccard, Chairperson~ and ) L.R. Barr, Deputy Chairperson ) October 28, 1993 ORDER WHEREAS: A. On October 20, 1993 BC Gas Utility Ltd. - Lower Mainland, Inland and Columbia Divisions ("BC Gas Utility") applied to the Commission for approval of cost of gas changes for the gas contract year commencing November 1, 1993. The proposed changes, identified as Cases No.1, 2 and 3, included an amortization of various gas cost deferral items~ and B. BC Gas Utility preferred approval of its Case No. 3 which utilized forecasted credits in the Gas Cost Reconciliation Account ("GCRA"), Volume Incentive Adjustments/Capacity Credits, and Off-System and Interruptible credits~ and C. At the request of the Commission, on October 21 and 25, 1993 respectively, BC Gas Utility filed Cases No.4 and 5 which provided alternatives to Cases No.1, 2 and 3. Case No.5 excluded the proposals of BC Gas Utility to amortize forecasted credits in GCRA and to recover Large COIpOration Tax related to an Order in Council No. 953/89; and D. The Commission has reviewed the applications and supporting material and is satisfied that approval of Case No.5 is in the public interest. NOW THEREFORE the Commission orders BC Gas Utility as follows: 1. Cost of gas changes, as proposed in Case No.5 for the Lower Mainland, Inland and Columbia Divisions, are approved effective with gas consumption commencing November 1, 1993. 2. The Commission will accept, subject to timely filing by BC Gas Utility, amended Gas Tariff Rate Schedules which incorporates Case No.5 cost of gas changes approved by this Order, effective November 1, 1993. 3. BC Gas Utility, by way of Customer Notice, is to inform all affected customers of the tariff changes approved by this Order.
