BEFORE: L.R. Barr, Deputy Chairperson; and ) May 18, 1993 F.C. Leighton, Commissioner ) WHEREAS: A. On May 17, 1993 BC Gas Inc. ("BC Gas") applied to the Commission for approval of a Letter Agreement dated May 14, 1993 ("the Agreement") between BC Gas and Universal Resources Corporation ("Universal") located at Salt Lake City, Utah, pursuant to the amended Rules Respecting Energy Supply Contracts ("the Rules") and Section 85.3 of the Utilities Commission Act ("the Act"); and B. The Agreement with Universal will provide BC Gas with 500,000 MMBTU storage capacity at the Clay Basin facility for the period June 1, 1993 to March 31, 1994 and 8,333 MMBTU/day of deliverability at Huntingdon, B.C. during the period November I, 1993 to March 31, 1994; and C. The Agreement is structured as a deferred exchange whereby Universal will take delivery of the gas as a purchase at Huntingdon, B.C. during the period June 1 to October 31, 1993 and return it to BC Gas as a sale during the November 1, 1993 to March 31, 1994 period. D. The Commission has reviewed the Agreement and is satisfied that approval is necessary and in the public interest. NOW THEREFORE pursuant to the Rules and Section 85.3 of the Act the Commission approves the following: The Agreement between BC Gas and Universal to provide 8,333 MMBTU/day deliverability and storage capacity at the Clay Basin Storage facility for the period June 1, 1993 to March 31, 1994.
