Jaccard, Chairperson; and ) L.R. Barr, Deputy Chairperson ) November 9, 1994 ORDER WHEREAS: A. On October 27, 1994 Pacific Northern Gas Ltd. C'PNG") applied to the Commission for approval of Winter Seasonal Gas Supply Arrangements with Ocelot Energy Inc. ("Ocelot") and CanWest Gas Supply Inc. ("CanWest") for the 1994/95 gas contract year; and B. On October 2], 1994 PNG provided the Commission with a report concerning the operation of the Prince Rupert Propane-Air Plant for system backup and peak-shaving purposes which indicates that the facility is approaching the end of its useful life; and C. The Commission has reviewed the filings and is satisfied that the gas supply pricing arrangements should be approved. NOW THEREFORE pursuant to Section 85.3 of the Utilities Commission Act and the Rules, the Commission approves the following gas supply arrangements for PNG: 1. A Seasonal Gas Supply Agreement with CanWest dated October 31, 1994 for 2,000 GJ/day. 2. Two Peaking Gas Supply Agreements with Ocelot both dated November 1, 1994 for 1,500 and 2,000 GJ/day. 3. PNG's plan to contract for 5,500 GJ/day of new peak-day supply for the 1994/95 gas contract year. .. ./2
2 E-21-94 4. PNG is directed to file with the Commission a report and recommendations with regard to a satisfactory replacement facility for the propane-air plant, on or before June 1, 1995. The Commission expects to review the history, use and replacement of the propane-air plant at PNG's next rate hearing or, in the event such a hearing does not take place prior to the date, by November 1, 1995 at the latest. 5. The Commission will treat as confidential, information that PNG has filed about these supply agreements, except for information about contract quantity. 6. PNG is to file, in a timely manner, the executed contract amendments approved by this Order. DA TED at the City of Vancouver, in the Province of British Columbia, this day of November, 1994.
