Jaccard, Chairperson; and ) L.R. Barr, Deputy Chairperson ) October 6, 1994 ORDER WHEREAS: A. On September 30, 1994 Centra Gas British Columbia Inc. ("Centra Gas") applied to the Commission for approval of two propane supply contracts ("the Contracts") with Petro-Canada Resources ("Petro-Canada") for liquid propane supply to the utility grid systems located at Port Alice and Whistler B.C., pursuant to Rules Respecting Energy Supply Contracts ("the Rules") and Section 85.3 of the Utilities Commission Act ("the Act"); and B. The Contracts provide for propane to be supplied by Petro-Canada for the period October 1, 1994 to March 31, 1995; and C. The Commission has reviewed the Contracts and supporting material and is satisfied that approval is necessary and in the public interest. NOW THEREFORE the Commission orders as follows: 1. The six month propane supply contracts with Petro-Canada for the Centra Gas grid systems located at Port Alice and Whistler are approved and accepted pursuant to the Rules and Section 85.3 of the Act as follows: Location Contract Date Approximate Quantity Port Alice September 9, 1994 617 cubic meters Whistler September 8, 1994 9,684 cubic meters 2. Centra Gas is directed to continue to use its approved propane contracting strategy, which is based on competitive tendering and includes consideration of both fixed and spot prices, when it develops new supply arrangements for the propane supply contract period commencing April 1, 1995.
