Jaccard, Chairperson; and ) K.L. Hall, Commissioner ) September 7, 1995 ORDER WHEREAS: A. The BC Gas Utility Ltd. ("BC Gas") Rate Design Phase "B" proceeding established prices for balancing gas under Rate Schedule 22/22A; and B. On August 23, 1995 BC Gas filed with the Commission an application for approval to amend the Rate Schedule 22/22A balancing gas pricing methodology effective August 1, 1995 in recognition of the current large differential between the price for balancing gas and Schedule 10 index based prices; and C. The Schedule 10 pricing methodology and BC Gas' gas supply portfolio, have been approved for the current gas contract year and are expected to remain in effect until October 31, 1995; and D. The Commission has reviewed the application and finds that approval effective at the start of the next contract year is necessary and in the public interest. NOW THEREFORE the Commission orders as follows: 1. The Commission approves for BC Gas the application to amend Rate Schedule 22/22A so that the current fixed price methodology for balancing gas is replaced by add-on balancing gas charges of $1.1O/GJ during November through March and $0.30/GJ during April through October, with the change to be effective for the gas contract year commencing November 1, 1995. 2. The Commission will accept, subject to timely filing by BC Gas, amended Gas Tariffs for Schedule 22/22A which incorporate this charge effective November 1, 1995.
