Barr, Deputy Chair and ) Acting Chair ) April 24, 1997 K.L. Hall, Commissioner ) O R D E R WHEREAS: A. On April 16, 1997 BC Gas Utility Ltd. (ÒBC GasÓ) applied to the Commission for approval of amendments to its baseload gas supply contracts to permanently assign upstream Westcoast Energy Inc. (ÒWestcoastÓ) gathering and processing service to suppliers; and B. The application contained a draft Assignment and Amending Agreement dated April 30, 1997 that will assign such service to suppliers; and C. BC Gas will retain its right to reassignment of transmission capacity downstream of WestcoastÕs plants, which is consistent with Commission directives contained in Decisions issued on MarchÊ11, 1993 and JulyÊ7, 1995 concerning supply to the core market; and D. The Commission has reviewed the application and finds that its approval is required. NOW THEREFORE, pursuant to Section 71 of the Utilities Commission Act, the Commission approves for BC Gas the amendment to its baseload gas supply contracts which permanently assigns upstream Westcoast gathering and processing service to suppliers, subject to the timely filing of executed documents.
