Barr, Deputy Chair ) and Acting Chair ) July 23, 1997 K.L. Hall, Commissioner ) O R D E R WHEREAS: A. On MayÊ2, 1997 the Commission, by Letter No.ÊL-19-97, approved for Pacific Northern Gas Ltd. (ÒPNGÓ) its Gas Contracting Plan for the 1997/98 gas contract year; and B. On JulyÊ8, 1997 PNG applied to the Commission for approval of a JuneÊ12, 1997 Letter Agreement that amended the NovemberÊ1, 1991 Baseload Gas Supply Contract with CanWest Gas Supply Inc.Ê(ÒCanWestÓ) and established gas pricing based on the Inside FERC Sumas Index for the 1997/98 and 1998/99 gas contract years; and C. The CanWest amendment provides for an additional supply point located at Fort St.ÊJohn, B.C.; and D. The Commission has reviewed the PNG filing and is satisfied that approval of the gas supply contract amendment is necessary and in the public interest. NOW THEREFORE pursuant to SectionÊ71 of the Utilities Commission Act and the Rules, the Commission approves for PNG the JuneÊ12, 1997 Letter Agreement with CanWest which amends the baseload supply contract dated NovemberÊ1, 1991, subject to CanWest obtaining producer approval for the amendment.
