On January 30, 1997 BCÊGas Utility Ltd.Ê(ÒBCÊGasÓ) applied to the Commission for approval of a Gas Supply Exchange Agreement for the 1996/97 gas contract year with PanEnergy Trading and Market Services, Inc.Ê(ÒPEGSÓ); and B. Consistent with the 1996/97 Gas Contracting Plan, which was approved on JuneÊ27, 1996 by Commission Letter No.ÊL-24-96, BCÊGas used the PEGS exchange contract to optimize its gas supply portfolio; and C. The Commission has reviewed the Application and is satisfied that approval is necessary and in the public interest. NOW THEREFORE pursuant to SectionÊ71 of the Utilities Commission Act and the Rules, the Commission approves for BC Gas, the Gas Supply Exchange Agreement with PEGS dated OctoberÊ21, 1996 under which BCÊGas delivered 21,101 GJ/d at Sumas and received 21,101 GJ/d in Alberta for NovemberÊ1996 through MarchÊ1997.
