Ostergaard, Chair L.R. Barr, Deputy Chair P.G. Bradley, Commissioner B.L. Clemenhagen, Commissioner ) CERTIFICATE OF PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY WHEREAS: A. On April 17, 2000, BC Gas Utility Ltd. (“BC Gas”) applied to the Commission for approval to extend by one year the 21-year Gas Franchise Agreement between Inland Natural Gas Co. Ltd. (a predecessor company to BC Gas) and the City of Prince George (“the City”) approved by Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (“CPCN”) No. C-39-80; and B. BC Gas and the City have agreed to extend the expiry date of the Gas Franchise Agreement from October 31, 2000 to October 31, 2001, and to extend for a further year the notice provision so as to commence May 1, 2001 and end November 3, 2001; and C. The Commission has reviewed the application and finds that an extension to the expiry date of the Gas Franchise Agreement is in the public interest. NOW THEREFORE the Commission, pursuant to Section 45(7) of the Utilities Commission Act, approves for BC Gas a one-year extension to October 31, 2001 of the Gas Franchise Agreement with the City of Prince George and a one-year extension of the notice provisions.
