On December 11, 2001, BC Gas Utility Ltd. (“BC Gas”) applied for a decrease of $1.410/GJ in Revelstoke customer rates, a decrease in the reference price applicable in the Revelstoke Propane Cost Deferral Account from $0.2517/litre to $0.2168/litre, and to extend the amortization period for recovery of the Revelstoke Propane Cost Deferral Account from June 30, 2002 (approved by Order No. G-64-01) to December 31, 2002, for customer rates to be effective January 1, 2002; and B. The decrease in the reference price, along with the rate changes, will result in a rate decrease of approximately 7.0 percent for Residential customers, 9.7 percent for Small Commercial customers, and 10.6 percent for Large Commercial customers; and C. The Commission has reviewed the Application and finds that approval is required. NOW THEREFORE the Commission orders as follows: 1. The Commission approves for BC Gas, pursuant to Section 61(4) of the Utilities Commission Act, a decrease of $1.410/GJ in Revelstoke customer rates, a decrease in the reference price applicable to the Revelstoke Propane Cost Deferral Account from $0.2517/litre to $0.2168/litre, and a change in the amortization period for the Propane Surcharge Rider from June 30, 2002 to December 31, 2002, for customer rates to be effective January 1, 2002. . . . /2
2 2. BC Gas is to provide a report on the balance in the Revelstoke Propane Cost Deferral Account by June 1, 2002. 3. BC Gas is to provide all affected customers with a bill insert notice of the rate changes that will be effective January 1, 2002, and is to provide Commission staff with its communication plan and draft bill insert related to the rate decrease prior to its release.
