On February 5, 2001, The Corporation of the City of Nelson (“the City”) applied to the Commission for approval of Electrical Utility Amendment By-Law No. 2909, 2001 to increase its electrical rates by 2% effective February 1, 2001; and B. The electric rate increase is required due to a 5% increase in power purchase costs from West Kootenay Power Ltd., that was approved by Commission Order No. G-130-00; and C. The Commission has reviewed the By-Law, rate schedules and supporting material and finds that an electrical rate increase to all customers is required. NOW THEREFORE the Commission orders as follows: 1. The Commission approves and accepts for filing Electrical Utility Amendment By-Law No. 2909, 2001 with corrected rate schedules incorporating a 2% rate increase, effective February 1, 2001. 2. The City, by way of a Customer Notice included in the next billing, is to inform customers of the rate increase. 3. The City is to provide the Commission with a final certified copy of the By-Law following all approvals.
