Ostergaard, Chair R.D. Deane, Commissioner K.L. Hall, Commissioner O R D E R WHEREAS: A. On August 29, 2002, BC Gas Utility Ltd. (“BC Gas”) applied to the Commission for approval of Rate Schedule 22B (Large Industrial Rate) Tariff Supplements No. G-14 and G-15 with Fording Coal Limited (“Fording”) for its Fording River and Greenhills coal mine sites for a term commencing August 1, 2002 and ending November 1, 2004; and B. The Tariff Supplements propose an interruptible rate of $0.276 per GJ for the summer period from April 1 through October 31, and during the winter period of November 1 through March 31 for interruptible volumes delivered in excess of 10 percent of the contracted Daily Transmission Quantity (“DTQ”) times the number of days in the month. Fording has agreed that it will not decrease its DTQ at either mine site during the term of the agreements for the Tariff Supplements; and C. On September 27, 2002, BC Gas responded to a Commission Staff Information Request; and D. The Commission has reviewed the Application and finds that the Tariff Supplements with Fording are in the public interest. NOW THEREFORE the Commission approves for BC Gas, Rate Schedule 22B Tariff Supplements No. G-14 and G-15 with Fording for its coal mine site operations at Fording River and Greenhills, effective August 1, 2002.
