Ostergaard, Chair ) K.L. Hall, Commissioner ) July 9, 2003 R.H. Hobbs, Commissioner ) O R D E R WHEREAS: A. On July 4, 2003 Terasen Gas (Whistler) Inc. (“Terasen Whistler”) applied to the Commission for approval to increase Rate Rider A from $0.610 per gigajoule to $2.49 per gigajoule, effective July 1, 2003 as a result of increases to the commodity cost of propane, pursuant to Section 61(4) of the Utilities Commission Act; and B. The increase is a result of higher bulk propane commodity costs that Terasen Whistler is expected to pay for 2003; and C. The Commission requires customers to be given sufficient advance notice of the increase in rates and confirms that a delay by one month will result in a minor change to the Gas Cost Variance Account (“GCVA”) balance; and D. The Commission has reviewed the application for an increase to Rate Rider A and finds that approval is in the public interest. NOW THEREFORE the Commission orders as follows: 1. The Commission approves for Terasen Whistler an increase to Rate Rider A to $2.49 per gigajoule, effective August 1, 2003. 2. Terasen Whistler is to inform all customers of the increase to Rate Rider A by way of customer notice.
