Hobbs, Chair July 19, 2005 L.A. OHara, Commissioner O R D E R WHEREAS: A. On June 19, 2005, the Commission, by Order No. G-58-05, issued its Decision on British Columbia Transmission Corporations (“BCTC”) Open Access Transmission Tariff Application (“OATT”) and British Columbia Hydro and Power Authoritys (“BC Hydro”) Interconnected Operations Services to BCTC (“IOS”) Application; and B. On May 6, 2005, the British Columbia Public Interest Advocacy Centre (“BCPIAC”) on behalf of the BC Old Age Pensioners Organization et al. (“BCOAPO”) applied for a Participant Assistance Cost Award (“PACA”), for its participation in the Commission proceeding to hear the OATT and IOS Applications; and C. On June 14, 2005, the Joint Industry Electricity Steering Committee (“JIESC”) applied for a PACA for their participation in the Commission proceeding to hear the OATT and IOS Applications; and D. On June 23, 2005, the Commercial Energy Consumers (“CEC”) applied for a PACA for their participation in the Commission proceeding to hear the OATT and IOS Applications; and E. BCTC, in a letter dated July 7, 2005, has advised the Commission that is has reviewed the claims and is satisfied that they are in order, and further that it has arranged a sharing of responsibility with BC Hydro for Participant costs for this proceeding such that BCTC will pay intervenors the full amount approved by the Commission and be reimbursed by BC Hydro for an arranged share; and . . . /2
2 F. Commission Panel has determined that BCOAPO/BCPIAC, JIESC and CEC participated in the proceeding and contributed to the review process; and G. The Commission has reviewed PACA applications with regard to the criteria and rates set out in Order No. G-15-04. NOW THEREFORE the Commission orders as follows: 1. Pursuant to Section 118(1) of the Utilities Commission Act, the Commission approves the following cost awards for BCOAPO/BCPIAC, JIESC and CEC for their participation in BCTCs OATT Application and BCHs IOS Application: BCOAPO $58,862.74 JIESC $141,243.00 CEC $51,340.74 2. BCTC is directed to reimburse BCOAPO/BCPIAC, JIESC and CEC for the total amounts awarded in a timely fashion.
