Kelsey, Commissioner O R D E R WHEREAS: A. By letter dated December 19, 2005, British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority (“BC Hydro”) seeks approval of an Electric Tariff variance under its Modified Demand Transmission Service – Rate Schedule 1852 (“RS1852”); and B. The availability clause contained in RS1852 specifies that the annual subscription period for new subscribers is from September 1 to October 31 each year; and C. A new subscriber, Howe Sound Pulp and Paper, requests service under RS1852 effective January 1, 2006, as it was unable to fully evaluate the commitments and obligations for curtailments under RS1852 until after the subscription deadline; and D. BC Hydro applies for approval of this tariff variance from the subscription period for new customers in order to accept an agreement with the new customer; and E. The Commission has reviewed BC Hydro’s application and finds that an Electric Tariff variance should be approved. NOW THEREFORE the Commission approves an Electric Tariff variance to allow BC Hydro to accept an agreement with Howe Sound Pulp and Paper for service under RS 1852, effective January 1, 2006.
