Kelsey, Commissioner P.E. Vivian, Commissioner O R D E R WHEREAS: A. On April 23, 2009 the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (“ICBC”) submitted to the British Columbia Utilities Commission (“the Commission”) an application for amendments to Schedule C of the Basic Insurance Tariff (“the Application”); and B. For the first amendment, ICBC proposes to remove the premiums listed in Territory Z for rate classes incompatible with that territory; and C. For the second amendment, ICBC proposes to simplify the rate premium for the trailer rate classes. ICBC proposes rate premiums of $23 for non‐commercial trailer rate classes, $113 for commercial trailers with $1 million Third Party Coverage, and $139 for commercial trailers with $2 million Third Party Coverage; and D. ICBC submits that for the majority of policyholders in the trailer rate classes, the rate impacts for the proposed base rate premiums will be fairly minor. ICBC notes that some of the proposed rate changes are above 10 percent but the dollar impact is not very significant; and E. The Commission has reviewed the Application and finds that its approval is warranted. NOW THEREFORE the Commission approves the Application for the amendments to Schedule C of the Basic Insurance Tariff, effective July 1, 2009.
