O R D E R
WHEREAS:
A. On May 31, 2010, the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC) submitted an application to the British Columbia Utilities Commission (the Commission) pursuant to the applicable sections of 59, 60 and 61 of the Utilities Commission Act (the Act) for approval of its 2010 Revenue Requirements for Universal Compulsory Automobile Insurance;
B. Following a Written Public Hearing, the Commission Panel issued Order G-137-10 with Reasons for Decision to follow;
C. By letter dated August 24, 2010 the British Columbia Public Interest Advocacy filed a Participant Assistance/Cost Award application (PACA) on behalf of its client, the British Columbia Old Age Pensioners’ Organization et al., with respect to its participation in the 2010 ICBC Revenue Requirements proceeding;
D. By letter dated October 27, 2010 ICBC advised the Commission that it is of the view that the PACA Application is not unreasonable and has no objection to the Application or the amounts sough therein;
E. The Commission has reviewed the PACA Application with regard to the criteria and rates set out in Order G‑72-07.
NOW THEREFORE pursuant to section 118(1) of the Act the Commission orders as follows:
1. Approval of a cost award for the British Columbia Old Age Pensioners’ Organization et al. in the amount of $7,847.44 for its participation in the 2010 ICBC Revenue Requirements proceeding.
2. ICBC is directed to reimburse the above-noted participant in a timely manner.
