for Approval of the Base Contract for Short-Term Sale and Purchase of Natural Gas

between Northwest Natural Gas Company and FortisBC Energy Inc.

O  R  D  E  R

WHEREAS:

A.       On January 23, 2012, FortisBC Energy Inc. (FEI) filed with the British Columbia Utilities Commission (Commission) an executed copy of a Base Contract for Short-Term Sale and Purchase of Natural Gas Between Northwest Natural Gas Company (NWN) and FEI effective November 1, 2011 (the Agreement);

 

B.       FEI has requested that the filing and associated documents remain confidential due to their commercially sensitive nature;

 

C.       The Commission has reviewed the FEI filing and is satisfied that the Agreement is appropriate and in the public interest.

 

 

NOW THEREFORE pursuant to section 71 of the Utilities Commission Act and the Commission’s Rules for Natural Gas Energy Supply Contracts, the Commission accepts for filing the Agreement between NWN and FEI.  The Commission will keep confidential the filing and associated documents identified in this Order.
