Application for 2012/2013 Natural Gas Supply Contracts

O R D E R

WHEREAS:

A.      By Letter L-47-12 dated August 24, 2012, the British Columbia Utilities Commission (Commission) accepted the amended 2012-2013 Annual Gas Contracting Plan (Amended ACP) filed by Pacific Northern Gas Ltd. (PNG);

B.      The Rules for Natural Gas Energy Supply Contracts, Appendix A of Commission Order G-130-06, state that all energy supply contracts for the sale of natural gas to a public utility, other than those for purchases from another public utility, and all subsequent amendments, must be filed with the Commission;

C.      On October 25, 2012, PNG filed with the Commission gas contracts for approval of monthly and daily priced gas supply arrangements (Application);

D.      PNG requests that the details contained in the Application be kept confidential due to its commercially sensitive nature;

E.       The Commission reviewed the Application and is satisfied that the gas supply contracts are appropriate considering market conditions at the time they were negotiated; are in alignment with the Amended ACP; and are in the public interest.

 

 

NOW THEREFORE pursuant to section 71 of the Utilities Commission Act and the Commission’s Rules for Natural Gas Energy Supply Contracts, the Commission accepts for filing the natural gas contracts shown in Appendix A to this Order.  The Commission will hold the details of the Application and related filings confidential to protect commercially sensitive information.
