for Approval of Basic Insurance Tariff Housekeeping Amendments

O  R  D  E  R

WHEREAS:

A     On October 31, 2012, the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC) submitted to the British Columbia Utilities Commission (Commission) an application for twelve housekeeping amendments to the Basic Insurance Tariff (Tariff), with a proposed effective date of January 1, 2013 (Application);

 

B.    ICBC is proposing the following housekeeping amendments to multiple sections of the Tariff:

 

                     Backdated Refunds on Cancellations (Basic Insurance Premiums, page 34)

                     Removal of Section 2.8 (Schedule B, page 5)

                     Clarification of Utility Vehicle U-Drives (Schedule B, pages 7, 9, 12, 36, 37)

                     Insertion of Table Heading (Schedule B, page 11)

                     Clarification to Experience Rate Classes (Schedule B, pages 21, 26, 29, 32, 35)

                     Conditional Factor Clarification (Schedule B, pages 7, 12, 13, 42 and 44)

                     Addition of Snowplow to Rate Classes 150/151 (Schedule B, pages 13 and 44)

                     Clarification for Towing Vehicle and Trailers (Schedule B, pages 74 and 75)

                     Third Party Liability Limits for Rate Classes 017 and 552 (Schedule C, pages 1, 4, 5, 6, 9, 10);

 

C.    ICBC submits that the proposed Tariff amendments are all minor in scope with minimal anticipated impacts on Basic Insurance rates or customers;

 

D.    The Commission has reviewed the Application and considers that its approval is warranted.

 

 

NOW THEREFORE the Commission approves the Application for the housekeeping amendments to the Basic Insurance Tariff, effective January 1, 2013.
