Application for Approval of Changes to Propane Supply Agreement

ORDER

WHEREAS:

A.        On August 2, 2016, Big White Gas Utility Ltd. (BWGU) filed with British Columbia Utilities Commission (Commission) an Application for Approval of Changes to Propane Supply Agreement (Application). The Application seeks approval to amend the current Minimum Monthly Charge, effective September 1, 2016, from $45.00 to:

                              (i)            $45.00 for Commercial customers; and

                            (ii)            $10.00 for Residential customers.

B.        On June 4, 1998, Commission Order G-52-98 approved the Minimum Monthly Charge; however, BWGU states that the Minimum Monthly Charge was never implemented as its previous billing system did not have the capability for the fee to be billed. The new system enables the Minimum Monthly Charge to be billed; and

C.        The Commission reviewed the Application and finds that a regulatory timetable should be established.

NOW THEREFORE in accordance with sections 59-61 of the Utilities Commission Act, the British Columbia Utilities Commission:

1.       Establishes a written review of the Big White Gas Utility Ltd. Application for Approval of Changes to Propane Supply Agreement as set out in the regulatory timetable attached as Appendix A to this order, which provides for customer comments on the Application.

2.       Directs Big White Gas Utility Ltd. to provide its customers with a copy of this order along with the customer notice included in the Application.
