Basic Insurance Tariff Amendments Application

ORDER

WHEREAS:

 

A.      On September 24, 2019, the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC) submitted with the British Columbia Utilities Commission (BCUC) an application to amend the Basic Insurance Tariff (Tariff) related to the completion of Fleet, Garage and remaining additional products transitioning into the Policy Administration System (PAS), effective October 25, 2019 (Application);

B.      By Order G-50-18 dated March 2, 2018, the BCUC approved Tariff amendments as an interim solution while a phased-in approach to the migration of Fleet, Garage and remaining additional products into the new PAS is being taken to manage its overall system development and to help minimize impacts to customers, brokers and staff;

C.      By Order G-102-14 dated July 24, 2014, the BCUC approved Tariff amendments that relate to its special coverages;

D.      By Order G-127-15 dated July 23, 2015, the BCUC approved Tariff amendments regarding ICBC’s business practices that were built into the new PAS;

E.       By Order G-121-16 dated July 28, 2016, the BCUC approved further Tariff amendments related to the implementation of the new PAS;

F.       In the Application, ICBC filed changes to tariff pages as listed in Appendix A to this Order;

G.     On October 11, 2019, ICBC filed two amended pages related to Basic Insurance Premiums Page 35 and Schedule T: Premium Prorate Instructions Page 6 and replaced these pages from the Application;

H.      The BCUC reviewed the Application and the updated information filed on October 11, 2019 and views that the Tariff amendments are warranted.

 

NOW THEREFORE the BCUC approves ICBC’s application to amend the Tariff pages related to the completion of Fleet, Garage and remaining additional products transitioning into the PAS, effective October 25, 2019, as included in Appendix A to this order.
