ORDER

WHEREAS:

 

A.      On October 26, 2022, pursuant to section 71 of the Utilities Commission Act (UCA), FortisBC Energy Inc. (FEI) filed with the British Columbia Utilities Commission (BCUC) an executed copy of a Contract Demand Transportation Service Agreement (Agreement) negotiated between FortisBC Huntingdon Inc. (HIPCO) and FEI for the period commencing November 1, 2022 and ending October 31, 2027 (Filing);

B.      By Order E-22-17 dated December 14, 2017, the BCUC accepted the previous Contract Demand Transportation Service Agreement between HIPCO and FEI that commenced on November 1, 2017, and ended on October 31, 2022;

C.      By Order G-130-06 dated October 27, 2006, the BCUC approved the Rules for Natural Gas Energy Supply Contracts (Rules). The Rules are intended to facilitate the BCUC’s review of natural gas energy supply contracts pursuant to section 71 of the UCA;

D.      By Letter L-21-22 dated June 3, 2022, the BCUC accepted the FEI 2022/2023 Annual Gas Contracting Plan (ACP); and

E.       The BCUC has reviewed the Filing and is satisfied that the Agreement is consistent with the 2022/2023 ACP and is in the public interest.

 

NOW THEREFORE pursuant to section 71 of the UCA and the Rules, the BCUC accepts the Agreement between HIPCO and FEI for filing.
