IN THE MATTER OF

and

British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority

Public Electric Vehicle Charging Service Rates

BEFORE:

A. K. Fung, KC, Panel Chair

E. B. Lockhart, Commissioner

on October 6, 2023

ORDER

WHEREAS:

A.      On July 28, 2023, British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority (BC Hydro) applied to the British Columbia Utilities Commission (BCUC) for approval of the BC Hydro Public Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Service Rates Application (Application) pursuant to sections 58 to 61 and 90 of the Utilities Commission Act;

B.      By Order G-219-23 and Order G-259-23, the BCUC established a regulatory timetable for the review of the Application, which includes public notice, intervener registration, one round of information requests (IR) to BC Hydro, intervener evidence if any, a streamlined review process (SRP), and written final arguments;

C.      By letter dated September 29, 202, the BCUC provided information regarding the SRP and addressed the format of final arguments;

D.      By letter dated October 5, 2023, BC Hydro requested an extension to November 9, 2023 to file its responses to the first round of IRs, with the dates of the SRP and intervener evidence to be determined, due to limited resources, the high volume of IRs to be answered, and other ongoing BC Hydro proceedings;

E.       By letter dated October 5, 2023, BC Sustainable Energy Association and Vancouver Electric Vehicle Association (BCSEA-VEVA) requested a longer time period between the date for notice of intervener evidence and the dates for the SRP, in the event of no intervener evidence, to allow for travel arrangements to the SRP; and

F.       The BCUC has considered BC Hydro’s and BCSEA-VEVA’s requests and determines that the establishment of an amended regulatory timetable is warranted.

NOW THEREFORE the BCUC establishes an amended regulatory timetable, as set out in Appendix A to this order.

DATED at the City of Vancouver, in the Province of British Columbia, this               6th            day of October 2023.
