ORDER

WHEREAS:

A.      On October 7, 2025, Canfor Pulp Ltd. (Canfor) filed an application with the British Columbia Utilities Commission (BCUC) pursuant to section 88(3) of the Utilities Commission Act (UCA) seeking approval for a class of persons exemption from section 71 and Part 3 of the UCA in respect of the sale of electricity to parties operating computation-based heating systems (Server Processing Parties) at Canfor’s facilities located in Prince George, BC (Application);

B.      In the Application, Canfor also sought BCUC approval of an interim rate with respect to the sale of electricity to Thermo Solutions Ltd. (Thermo), a Server Processing Party with whom Canfor has executed a letter of intent for a pilot project to install computation-based heating systems at the three pulp mills operated by Canfor in Prince George, BC (Pilot Project), effective on or before October 31, 2025 (Interim Rate Request);

C.      By Order G-256-25 dated October 29, 2025, the BCUC approved Canfor’s Interim Rate Request and established a written comment process and regulatory timetable for review of the Application, which included public notice of the Application, one round of BCUC Information Requests, and a Letter of Comment submission period (Proceeding);

D.      By letter dated November 14, 2025, Canfor indicated that it had incorrectly referred to itself in the Application as "Canfor Pulp and Paper Ltd." and requests that the BCUC refer to it as "Canfor Pulp Ltd." (Variance Request); and

E.       The BCUC has reviewed the Variance Request and considers the following determination is warranted.

NOW THEREFORE the BCUC orders that the entity defined as "Canfor" in Order G-256-25 will refer to "Canfor Pulp Ltd." instead of "Canfor Pulp and Paper Ltd.", and all directives in Order G-256-25 will apply to this entity.

DATED at the City of Vancouver, in the Province of British Columbia, this     18th      day of November 2025.
